Clare trained at Pinderfields School Of Nursing 1991-94. Once qualified she worked as a staff nurse on the orthopaedic ward at the Northern General Hospital. In 1997 she transferred to A&E for almost 20 years, becoming an Emergency Nurse Specialist in 2001 and a Senior Sister/ENP in 2004. Trauma management (whether big or small) and patient well-being has always been Clare’s main interest throughout her career.
She has worked alongside specialist surgeons such as orthopaedics/facial maxillary surgeons and plastic surgeons. As part of her role she taught other members of staff such as doctors and nurses, how to understand an individuals’ anatomy in relation to wound management following injuries. This has given Clare an excellent understanding as she branched out into facial aesthetics. Clare now works as an Advanced Practitioner/Lead Nurse in a GP surgery in Sheffield assessing, diagnosing and treating minor illness and injury. She is the Infection control lead and wound management amongst other roles. Clare lives in Barnsley with her two children and the family dog!
