About The Clinic

Roundwood is the area's largest physiotherapy clinic, with an excellent reputation for high standards of care and treatment.

We appreciate that our patients lead busy lives and so operate extended opening hours, offering daytime, evening (until 9pm) and weekend appointments.

We are easy to find - just 2 minutes from J37 of the M1 and we have ample free parking.

Roundwood is the area's largest Physiotherapy clinic, with an established and trusted reputation for excellent quality of care. Our aim is to provide a professional and efficient service tailored to your needs, delivered by a friendly team in a comfortable atmosphere.

We are unique in the area in our ability to provide an integrated approach to health care, as in addition to excellent physiotherapists we also have a visiting Orthopaedic consultant, on-site Chiropody, Orthotics/Podiatry and Complementary therapies.

The Physiotherapy Team

At Roundwood we are justifiably proud of our expert team of male and female Physiotherapists.

All of our Physiotherapists are Chartered(MCSP) and HPC registered, and have a wealth of experience and expertise in a variety of different specialist areas. In particular, we have postural and spinal specialists, a neuro-physiotherapist and sports clinicians who have worked with top-level athletes.

Chartered Physiotherapy

Chartered physiotherapists differ from 'sports injury therapists' and 'sports massage therapists'. Chartered Physiotherapists undergo 4 years' training to the highest clinical standards in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and Clinical Skills. This enables accurate, safe and effective diagnoses and treatments to be carried out.

In addition to their initial rigorous training, Chartered Physiotherapists have to undertake ongoing post-graduate training in order to satisfy the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements stipulated by their Professional body, the Chartered Society Of Physiotherapy (CSP). Adequate CPD is pre-requisite to eligibility for ongoing CSP and HPC registration.

Perhaps as importantly, Chartered Physiotherapists also have sufficient training to know when and what not to treat. In such cases your physio will be able to guide you to the most appropriate route of referral for a more appropriate medical diagnosis / tests / intervention. To this end Roundwood has excellent links and close professional contact with local GPs and Consultants.

Facilities

For your comfort and privacy, we treat in individual warm, clean, purpose-built treatment rooms. Each is well-equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and variable-height treatment couches.

We also have an on-site gym and a Pilates studio for 1:1 tuition or small group classes.

Referrals

Clients may self-refer for assessment, advice and treatment. Alternatively, referrals may be made by insurance companies, solicitors, GPs or consultants, with whom we have excellent links.

Medical Insurance Cover

The clinic is recognised by all major health insurance companies eg BUPA, AXAPPP, Westfield, HSA and is the preferred provider for many of them. Patients may reclaim their costs subject to the terms and conditions of their cover.
